Dr. Linda Radford is currently Mayor of Hertford.
This painting was produced as part of a project with Hertford Art Society and Linda chose to purchase it.
"It is a very fine painting and as well as being a good likeness I particularly like the richness of the colours. Ian has a great attention to detail and the fur on the robe looks so real, you feel you could touch it. I will be proud to hang it on my wall."
Rigsby belongs to one of Ian's neighbours.
"Wow, the painting is fantastic" said his owner Sue.
"Rigsby; perfectly captured with his favourite toy."
Guinness lives in the rolling hills of Herefordshire with his owners Ian and Sue. After a good morning walk, he has a favourite spot by the lounge window.
"Thank you so much for coming over to us to paint Guinness" wrote Sue. "We are extremely pleased with our painting."
Simba is a lovely natured dog who belongs to Ian's brother.
Having met Alan Yarrow, the Lord Mayor of London, at one of his charity events, Ian donated a portrait commission to his appeal.
Julian kindly donated to the appeal (in aid of Mencap and Scope) by taking up the offer of a commission.
"I am over the moon with the work. So impressed with the final result. It surpassed all my expectations and I absolutely love it. Thank you for your hard work and attention to detail - It paid off!! You should be proud as you have one very happy customer."
After his work was seen at an exhibition, Ian was approached to paint this elderly gentleman.
“Ian painted a portrait of my late grandfather from a series of photographs which I provided. The brief was a difficult one; I asked him to change the clothes that my grandfather was wearing and incorporate a number of family photographs in the background of the portrait."
"Ian quickly grasped the issues and provided a rough (but extraordinarily good) draft sketch to show the composition. He advised me on the appropriate size of the piece and how colour might best be used. I am exceptionally pleased with the end result. I can wholeheartedly recommend Ian.”
Eric Morecambe is one of the country’s best-loved comedians and Ian worked on a film project for Eric’s son, Gary.
"This painting of my father, finds him in his favourite armchair at our home in Harpenden. Dad was always performing, always on the go, so this thoughtful pose reminds me of a weekend just relaxing together.
"Ian has captured a rare moment and I can really see the twinkle in Dad's eye."
